Self Harm Awareness by finedzyn Self Harm Awareness by finedzyn
I wanted to make a simple self harm awareness statement and impact that we shouldnt be ashamed of self harm. Life can be difficult and everyone deals differently.

I kind of want to take a picture or my arms, just to see what a picture would like, and post it to help me accept them, but then i change my mind

I was scared id get a lot of abuse for adding this picture but I think there is something peaceful about it. it is just for awareness and to show people we shouldn't be scared to live our lives with scars that are a bit noticeable. this scar has reduced a lot and I plan to get tattood over it but I have never had any questions about this scar even though it is large.

I agree that we shouldn't be ashamed of the reason for self harming, but the act itself isn't healthy nor is it indicative of any serious attempt to return to good mental health. I see it more as a cry for help, and instead of shaming those who do it, people should seek to help them.

I agree 100% with the description, it actually kinda changes the feeling the picture gives at first glance, in a good way :)

thank you. iv changed it to say self-harm awareness. i remembered mental health awareness has a green ribbon and self harm has an orange.
